Arsenal have lost once at home this season and are looking at a forth place finish after a fairly disastrous outing in Brittany this week.
Manchester United spectacularly overturned a 2-0 deficit in the champions league with a last gasp 3-1 win in Paris.
Decimated by injuries at a crucial stage of the season, Solskjær is looking to consolidate United’s position in the premiership with a win at the Emirates.
One point separates the two teams and their fortunes in Europe have been quite contrasting at the time the whistle blows on Sunday but that will count for nothing on the day.
Arsenal will be without Torriera for this key contest due to a dubious red card against Spurs in the North London derby.
Lacazette will be back for selection, Ramsey will probably get the nod ahead of Ozil and Lichsteiner may creep back into contention in Emery’s mind.
Monreal needs to be replaced because during the Rennes game, he was caught flat footed on a number of occasions, with his lack of pace obvious.
Kolasinac should be knocking on the door as a left back and I’d give Jenkinson the right back slot with Sokratis and Koscileny in the middle.
Mkhitaryan didn’t have the best game against Rennes but he will love the chance to poke United in the eye with Ramsey and Iwobi alongside him.
That leaves a defensive shield of Xhaka and Guendouzi and Lacazette as the lone striker.
If anything has restricted Arsenal of late, it’s been the wasteful nature of both strikers who have been unusually shy in front of the posts.
If they are to overcome United, that will need to change significantly.
From a United perspective, Rashford and Lukaku are the main threat on goal with Pogba and Pereira pulling the strings, the absence of their other established stars may not be as much of an issue because their confidence must be high after the PSG game.
Arsenal will need to press and close up the creative space in the middle, whilst remaining solid at the back.
Rashford will need to be in someone’s pocket and it may take the experience and nerve of Koscileny to subdue Lukaku.
Preferred line up.
Leno, Kolasinac,Sokratis,Koscileny, Jenkinson,
Xhaka, Guendouzi,Iwobi, Ramsey, Mkhitaryan and Lacazette.
